David Lundell is an exceptionally talented carpenter who dreams of bringing his love of stories into the furniture he produces. He has a huge love of fantasy and adventure and enjoys travelling to only the far off places that can be found from deep within books. Stories about pirates, aliens, and monstrous creatures, to the simplest stories about the self and how characters can grow from those emotions.
Dave is likely to be found in one of two places. In front of a computer, working on his notes and revising his stories or covered in sawdust inside of his wood shop at Lucky Rooster Co. in Southern Utah, where he hand fabricates furniture with various themes in mind.
Dave, along with 11 siblings, owns and operates his families bed and breakfast located on their own farm with breathtaking mountain views and mesas for a backyard. If he can’t come up with new ideas for his work and writing there you can find him sitting in the corner of a coffee shop with his face glued to a screen, writing stories he has always wanted to read, until his editor catches him there and tells him to go home and write! Because C&I editors are savages.
From a very early age David has been intrigued at how closely people tie their emotions to their chosen form of entertainment. How one person will riot after a football game – even after their team has won. How others might sob after reading a sad book – yet want more. Or perhaps the simplest of moments of elation, like pounding a fist in the air after watching the underdog in a boxing match knockout a champion. Those emotions fascinate him and he strives to create nuance with those emotions not only in everything he writes but in his carpentry as well.
David has a growing YouTube channel following his exploits in crafting clever hidden compartment furniture @ David Lundell & Lucky Rooster Co. and he has a hugely popular and ever-growing TikTok account at David Owen Lundell where he shares everything from the furniture he crafts or various quips about his work.
David’s first publication will be found in C&I’s first Anthology: Tales We Tell The Sky, a short story connected to a larger novel universe that will be developed here and given additional releases in the next volumes of the same Anthology. His first science fiction novel: Project Danny & the Alien, is undergoing development.
