Jamelle Settles hails from Detroit, Michigan, and is now living abroad as an educator and administrator, working for the school system in Abu Dhabi. As a father he wanted to write about his experience raising his children abroad which led to his first book, The Peculiar Princess. It focuses on the experiences children have when meeting someone new who is a little different then you are and showcases the various ways children understand concepts of racism, the differences in learned behaviors, and how they can easily overcome such differences.
A wonderful writer with an incredible depth for understanding children, Jamelle will be penning a number of books in this series.
